The 3L editors, faculty advisor, and adjunct faculty typically provide a mandatory training session for the new staff members before school begins. The session is usually an all-day event that includes lunch for attendees.

The training session provides an overview of journals work, including:

• what to expect from editors and what the editors will expect of them
• workflow and deadlines,
