What's in this Guide

This guide is a starting point for research in databases and documents pertaining to Federal and Tribal Legislation at the UNM Law Library for the purposes of researching federal or tribal legislation along with testimony and legislative reports, as well as materials on drafting legislation.   It includes both primary and secondary materials, in both print and electronic formats.   • Federal Legislation and Legislative History: Resources to assist you in tracking federal legislation; and accessing historical bills, committee hearings, and prints.
  • Federal Law and Documents: Resources to assist you in locating and researching federal case law; federal enacted law including the federal Constitution, statutes and administrative law; as well as federal documents and treaties.
  • Federal Policy Analysis: Resources to assist you in locating and researching issues ripe for government action.
  • Tribal Policy Analysis: Resources to assist you in locating and researching issues affecting tribal laws and policy.
  • Tribal Constitutions, Codes, and other materials: Resources to assist you in locating and researching tribal constitutions and codes.

Accessing Resources in this Guide:

This research guide contains links to a wide variety of information sources, some of which can be accessed by all researchers, free of charge. However, access rights will vary. Please see the icon located after each resource description for more information.
