This guide is intended to help UNM School of Law students select a topic and get started on their Federal Water Law seminar papers. While there may be numerous law library guides available on the internet, this guide will provide more information on resources that are available exclusively to UNM School of Law students through the law library. It includes both primary and secondary materials, in both print and electronic formats.  If you have any questions, please contact the Law Library’s  reference desk at (505) 277-0935 or at lawlibrary.unm.edu.

• Tab 1: "Selecting a Topic" describes the topic selection process and how to use current awareness tools.
• Tab 2: "Conducting a Preemption Check" describes the purpose and process of conducting a preemption check for a seminar paper.
• Tab 3: "Creating a Research Strategy" describes how students can plan research and provides approaches to different types of materials.
