UNM Law Library Guide for Public Librarians: Forms

What to know about jurisdiction

Not all court forms can be used across jurisdictions.  When looking for the correct form you must first know in which jurisdiction your legal issue would reside, i.e., federal or state.  You must also know what court division will handle your issue, i.e., traffic, domestic relations, bankruptcy, etc.

Other Forms

Other New Mexico forms can be found in various New Mexico specific publications.   More generic forms can also be found in publications such as the NOLO or National Consumer Law Center series of books.  The law library also maintains multi-volume sets of legal forms such as West Legal Forms and AmJur Pleading and Practice.  Patrons are welcome to come in to the law library and copy forms from these volumes.
